Upcoming Project - 9th & Maxwell (Winter 2023 to Spring 2025)

Farmers Ditch Company is planning an improvement project along the ditch corridor between an alley at Mapleton and the intersection of 9th and Maxwell. The project is expected to begin in winter of 2023 and continue in phases until the spring of 2025. The goal of the project is to address water seepage, improve access, and address ditch carriage capacity. During the project the ditch company will clear vegetation, evaluate the need to remove certain trees, relocate utilities, discuss bridges across the ditch, and there may be minor traffic impacts. There will be direct impacts to property owners adjacent to the ditch. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.

2022/23 Annual Maintenance

Annual maintenance along Farmers Ditch occurs from November to April. Our crews will be working the entire length of the ditch to remove debris, sediment, and vegetation that has accumulated over the last year.

• Stump grinding at 26th & Norwood Ave

  • Stumps from trees removed earlier in the year will be ground to restore channel capacity. 

• Tree Removal from Iris to Hawthorne

  • The Ditch Company is working with Boulder Housing Partners to restore ditch capacity and access along the ditch from Iris to Hawthorne. This includes the removal of several large trees and the excavation of the ditch channel.
